Download the client
Get the custom client from the server website. Most RSPS use a Java-based .jar file or a standalone launcher.
Install Java (if needed)
Many RSPS clients require Java. Download the latest version of Java from java.com if prompted.
Launch the client
Run the downloaded client or launcher. The server connection is built into the client — no manual configuration is needed.
Create an account and play
Register in-game or on the server website. Some servers let you pick your XP mode (e.g., normal, ironman) at character creation.
Getting the Client
RuneScape private servers (RSPS) provide their own custom client. Download it from the server website. Some use a web-based client that runs in your browser. Do not use the official Jagex client.
