Metin2's October Reset: SungMa Tower Turns Over as a New Launch Wave Opens
The official servers roll into a new SungMa Tower session on 6 October while a stacked month of private-server launches begins — here's what's actually live and what it's worth playing.

October has started the way Metin2 players tend to want it: a session rollover on the official side and a fresh wave of launches on the private side. Here is what actually moved this week, and what it means for anyone deciding where to spend the next few months.
The official side: SungMa Tower turns over
The Metin2 UK team opened its "Events, October 2026" thread on the official board this week. According to the thread's opening post, the current SungMa Tower session ends on 5 October 2026 and the new session begins on 6 October 2026.
If you run tower content on the official servers, that is your deadline. Anything tied to the closing session is settled by the 5th, and the 6th opens a fresh ladder with everyone starting level. It is a scheduled calendar rollover, not a balance overhaul — but it is exactly the kind of timing that decides whether you push hard this week or bank your effort for the next session. The same board also shows October's item shop line-up, live from 1 October 2026.
Worth being honest about scope: this is routine session housekeeping, not a headline patch. The year's big official story — the 2026 Jubilee and its cross-server Treasure Hunt — has already run its course, and update 26.1's Balathor group content is old news among the people who chase patches. October on the official servers is rhythm, not revolution.
Which is precisely why the private side is the more interesting half of the month.
The private side is having a launch month
MT2Priv's launch tracker, with data as of 30 September 2026, is blunt about the recent past: across the 30 days before that snapshot, zero servers on its list had launched, and three launches were announced for the following 30 days. That is a compressed window — a quiet September followed by a stacked October. Announced starts it lists for the coming month include a hard-server opening on 3 October, an Easy-type launch on 10 October, and a Medium/Hard project on 23 October.
The same tracker's October ranking page, compiled as of 1 October 2026, says it tracks 331 Metin2 private servers with 65 of them open or about to launch, and rates Glevia2 first among player-voted entries at 3.78/5 from 108 reviews.
The practical reading: if you have been waiting for a clean start, October is when new supply arrives. A new server means a fresh economy, an uncrashed market, and a level field before the first wave of veterans settles in — but it also means a project that may not survive the winter. That is why it pays to know what is already established before you commit a character to a launch that might not see spring.
What is live in our directory right now
Our own Metin2 directory lists 44 approved servers, and all 44 are linkable — every one has a page you can open rather than a dead listing. The spread runs across Official-like, PvM, PvP and Fun builds, with flags covering Low Rate, Mid Rate, High Rate, PvP, PvM and Farm. That is a wider spread than most private-server scenes carry, and it means you can pick your position on the rate curve instead of taking whatever one server offers.
Here is what each of the strongest entries is actually for:
- Shiva International — Official-like, flagged lowRate, pvm and official, VIP_2, trust score 28. The closest thing in the directory to a straight Metin2 Online reproduction with oldschool gameplay and anti-cheat in place.
- Metin2 SG — VIP_2, trust score 28, flagged hardcore, official and stable. A German-language server presenting itself as a polished Metin2 Online experience with its own progression environment.
- Rubinum — midRate, pvm and pvp, VIP_2, trust score 27. A full reboot of the original Rubinum brand aimed squarely at the Middleschool era, nostalgic but with modern standards.
- Origins2 — flagged lowRate and hard, VIP_1, trust score 28. Its own description frames it as a modern, medium-easy server with heavy quality-of-life systems: the low rate is the brake, the QoL is the accelerator.
- Rodnia — midRate, pvm, VIP_1, trust score 28. A balanced middleschool server with an active community, and the single hottest entry in our directory this week.
- HammerMT2 — a PvP build flagged highRate, VIP_1, trust score 28. Open since 2010 with a Romanian-language community, it is one of the longest-running projects on this list and keeps the original clan-war grind intact.
- Azyrah — midRate, pvm and custom, VIP_2, trust score 20. Modern Metin2 with new systems layered on, for players who want the frame but not the script.
- Calliope — midRate, pvm and custom, VIP_1, trust score 20. Feature-dense and custom-system heavy.

Trending: what players are actually clicking
31 of our 44 Metin2 entries are trending this week, which says more about how much movement there is in this scene right now than any single server's numbers do. The current top five:
- Rodnia — rank 1, the mid-rate middleschool server with the strongest momentum in the directory.
- JINHUSHIELD — rank 2, sitting just behind Rodnia.
- INFERNO2 27.03.2026 — rank 3, still pulling clicks months after its dated opening.
- Metin2 Break — rank 4.
- Aelys2 - The old Exp — rank 5, an old-experience build riding the nostalgia wave.
Note the shape of that list: a middleschool mid-rate, a long-running flag-holder, a dated launch, and two old-school experience servers. None of them are brand-new. In a month where new launches are queueing up, the servers actually holding player attention are the established ones — which is the single most useful thing to know before you chase a 3 October or 10 October opening.
How to pick in a launch month
- You want the official feel without the official calendar: Shiva International or Metin2 SG. Both Official-like, both trust 28, both VIP_2 — the difference is that Shiva leans into oldschool rules while Metin2 SG is German-language and built around its own progression server.
- You want nostalgia with a floor under it: Rubinum does the Middleschool reboot properly; Origins2 and Aelys2 - The old Exp chase the same feeling from different angles.
- You want PvP, fast: HammerMT2 at highRate with clan-war roots, or Rubinum at midRate if you want PvP inside a PvM economy.
- You want custom systems over faithful ones: Azyrah and Calliope, both midRate and both custom-flagged — read the descriptions before committing, because "custom" means something different on each.
- You want to hedge the launch bet: split your attention. Start a character on a new October opening to catch the fresh-economy window, but keep a foothold on a project with a trust score behind it — Rodnia and Metin2 SG are the obvious anchors.
The SungMa session restart on 6 October gives the official players a clean slate this week. For everyone else, the private side is entering its busiest launch stretch in over a month — and the directory data suggests the rewards still sit with the servers that were already running before October began.
