How to Connect to Lineage 2 Private Servers
Follow these steps to get started playing on Lineage 2 private servers. Whether you are new or returning, this guide will walk you through the process.
Download the client
Get the Lineage 2 system (client) for the correct chronicle from the server website. Interlude and High Five are the most common.
Apply the server patch
Download the server patch and extract it into your Lineage 2 system folder, overwriting existing files. This updates the l2.ini file to point to the correct server.
Create an account
Register on the server website. Most Lineage 2 private servers require website registration before you can log in.
Launch the game
Run l2.exe from your game folder (not the official updater). Log in with your registered credentials.
Select your server and play
Choose the server from the list, create your character, and begin your journey in Aden.
Configuration File
The key configuration file you need to modify is: l2.ini
Getting the Client
Download the Lineage 2 client for the chronicle matching the server (e.g., Interlude, High Five, Classic). Most servers provide a preconfigured client or a patch to apply on top of a clean install.
