They are the visible payoff of movement, timing, and a read on where the other team is slow. That is a skillset you can train before you ever touch a competitive queue.
A knife kill survives only when nobody sees you coming, and nobody hears you either. That means understanding the space you are holding, the routes around it, and the exact second a retake starts. It is the kind of thing a warmup server exists for.
